CEMiD Spring 2026 – Photoluminescent O2/CO2 Sensing IC

This mixed-signal IC drives an LED and reads the photoluminescent response from oxygen and carbon dioxide sensing films through a custom analog front end (AFE). The digital processor converts these signals into physically quantifiable measurement results using charge estimation and on-chip signal processing, supported by an I-DAC controller for current control and a PLL for clock timing.

CEMiD Spring 2026 – Multiple Window Sampling AFE

This tapeout features a wearable transcutaneous oxygen integrated circuit (IC) utilizing a Multiple-Window Sampling (MWS) charge-accumulation technique. The sensor measures transcutaneous oxygen partial pressure and peripheral oxygen saturation by estimating the lifetime of the input signal. The former is done by measuring oxygen molecules diffusing through the skin, and the latter by measuring the light reflected from the human skin. The new charge-accumulation technique allows for simpler measurement of transcutaneous oxygen levels, an essential factor in patient health.
